Yacht Club fun… and the after party (?)
Tim got in Saturday afternoon. After 8 months of single momming it…I decided a girls’ night out with Jane and Celeste down at the FYC was in order.
Yes, I know you can’t see us… but this picture cracked me up.
And then for reasons I’m not quite clear on… we headed over to Dave and Celeste’s house where I declared I needed to bake the molten lava cakes. Why anyone let me bake is beyond me. But they were good?
My fearless helper and mostest fav kid in this family, E! (Shhhh, I hear I should have favorites.)
Er… thanks for letting us hang at your place until 1 a.m., Celeste.
And thanks for the night out… I needed that.
Summer has officially begun
Why the declaration now?
Because Glory dog decided to go for a morning fun run.
So… yet again I could be found walking the neighborhood in my PJs thinking dark thoughts about our Weim. For added interest TJ joined me this year and had a running chattering commentary about how horrible I was for letting the dog escape when he told me (TOLD ME!) to shut the door.
Yes, Summer is now officially here.
Dumb dog.
But purdy. (And tired)
Can you blow up my best friend’s minivan?
On a local radio station tonight the DJ had people calling in with requests for things they wanted blown up. K called in and requested that they blow up my van so that Tori could stay here and not move to ’stupid Texas.’
I have to admit it was tweeny funny to hear the DJ do a big explosive sound on the air, loudly inform everyone that K’s best friend was staying in Fairhope and then cue up ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ to seal the deal. Yes, the girls danced around and whooped it up.
So… in honor of K’s radio call going on the air I give you ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ set to Forrest Gump scenes. Why? Because I can. And I liked the FG scenes better than the other YouTube video of the song.
Friday Fun…???
Well, depends on your definition of fun. Fun for the kids once their day got going well. (Early morning goodbyes to Unka Jeff made for some sad faces to start the day. –Wah!!)
The boys ended up having a fun swim day with Gamma/Pop Pop:
While Tori went swimming down at the Bay with K and family.
Meanwhile I had more fun appointments and errands to run. Weeeeeeeeee.
Now everyone is bathed and being silly. K is spending the night… boys are totally sacked out. Could be a quiet night around here?
Tim arrives Saturday afternoon. Er, did I mention we have not packed a single thing and I’m helping to chaperone a party Sunday at the beach from 1-8?
Oh.
Dear.
Tim hopes to have all the furniture packed into the trailer by Monday night.
Literally… not a single box packed.
Hmmmmm, maybe I should get a jump on that, eh?
Five for Thursday
Five random things from a busy Thursday
- Yuck. I have a conjunctival cyst. Google at your own risk. Images disgusting to some, I am so sure. Mine is NOT gross. Honest. And…it’s not a tumor. (Say it with the Ah-nold voice just like this.)
- We’re closing on the new house tomorrow. Wait… no. Phone call… plans changed: no chance of Friday. Wait, maybe next Friday… or maybe the following Monday. Or maybe NEVER. Wait… we might be able to do this Friday after all. Hmmmm, pass a drink would you? *edited to add: Nope. Not closing Friday. New goal is Monday, June 8th. Oh. My. Freak.
- Back to tumors. Glory dog has a nasty one. A visit to the vet today concluded it had to come off ASAP. So she has surgery set for Tuesday morning.
- Almost 22 years ago I met a quirky girl named Liz. She loved Basset Hounds in a crazy kind of a way, and played the clarinet. I had lunch with her today. Yay.
- Tommy declared that it was a bad idea to shoot someone in the privates.
*I promised random things… and I delivered, no?
And a picture from lunch to cap off the post.
Today’s post is brought to you by TJ
Messing around on his iTouch this morning, TJ found this video.
I can so relate to that poor momma panda.
Happy 9th Birthday to TJ
The obligatory baby picture.
We celebrated the day very quietly since we already had his big birthday blow out a couple of weekends ago.
Big fat cinnamon rolls for breakfast (he loved the cream cheese frosting, a new one for him).
A picnic lunch at our big local park.
And fajitas for dinner with Molly and Jeff.
Yay!
Happy Birthday, big guy.
Prepping for his birthday…
This afternoon the boys had a guys only trip to Bass Pro. (Thank you, J! I was happy to sit this one out.)
TJ used some of his birthday money (thanks Nana and Lalo) along with a gift card to get HIS new Precious…
In the morning… cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Mmmmmm. Added benefit: house smells good for another showing. Yay.
