Well… crap. Swimsuit season is all but here.
I hate this time of year. Buy a suit now, or pay the price by having to buy something from the pile mismatched dredges that no one else wanted.
This year, with a weight loss goal that is actually within reasonable reach for the first time in 5 years, I sucked it up and made a virtual model over on Land’s End. I dutifully marked the numbers for way too many parts of my body with my handy dandy tape measure, carefully input the numbers on the website… and waited. Within moments, like magic, Land’s End produced a virtual me.
Huh. Truthfully virtual model me kinda freaked me out. (she does have that sneer smile thing I often do down pat though?)
Making virtual model me reminded me of that exercise in psych 101 where you are given chalk and told to draw an outline of what you think your body shape is on the floor. And then you lay down on top of that outline and someone actually traces you. It’s a a neat exercise in perception. (Well in theory…) Er, I digress…
Here’s what LE claims is a reasonable virtual model of me.
Again… huh. Sorry, LE, but my rear is TONS bigger than that! 
ANYWAY the point of this was that I put in my numbers, got virtual me, found a swimsuit and bought it. ALL without the indignity of too small dressing rooms, putting on 20 suits while trying not to dwell on the fact that numerous other people have already tried on these rather intimate garments (ewwwwww), and the dreaded fluorescent lights that can(and do) make everyone look like a recent zombie convert.
Swimsuit bought.
It had better fit, darnit.
Otherwise, I’m giving up and wearing old t-shirts and umbros to the neighborhood pool for the WHOLE summer. Oh yeh.

*PS Tim is on his way home for Tommy’a birthday party weekend. Ask me if I’ve cleaned, or made the cake, or even planned the party… come on… ask! On the other hand… hmmmm, let’s discuss that in another post, shall we?
