Outside stonework continues

Tim said they were going to need more stone it looked like. They also began drywall inside. Maybe some exciting pics of that for Wednesday?

Sides and back are completed for the most part.

Here’s an example of how the front steps could turn out. The builder will need to add some planters out front as per the neighborhood rules.

And a stone fireplace example. Ours will be the same white cut stone as outside the house and the mantle will match our kitchen cabinets. (A dark cherry stain.)

In NON housebuilding news. Last night TJ earned his Whittling Chip. He is so proud to have his own pocketknife. Yay!

Even though I’m like the walking billboard for TB at this point, it was a nice quiet day.

Kids managed to let me sleep until after 9, bless them. Being a wild and crazy mom, I let them have chocolate cake for breakfast. (Thanks to my mom for making a tn/pn free cake safe for Tommy.) Then I opened my gifts. (The kids went shopping at the Green House last night.) I am so set with some great smelling candles from the kids, a honking big wine class just for me from Liz, and  book fix for the bibliophile in me with nine new books from Jeff.

I’ll light some candles, have a glass of wine and read! *With iPrecious nearby in case I need to check my email or such! Thanks Tim!* Ahhhhhhhh. Sounds like a plan to me!

Tonight my parents brought over Mellow Mushroom pizza and salad for dinner.

Thanks to everyone for a nice day. I hope to crash out early in an effort to save a few brain cells from total O2 deprivation. (Could work?) And I’ll post the newest house pics in the morning.

Creeping Crawling Crud has invaded the house…

Even the dog has a fever?  Oh come ON.

TJ got suddenly sick this weekend. High fever, headache, chills, coughing, sneezing assorted symptoms fun.

Yesterday when I was out getting my new birthday purse (thanks Nana and Lalo!) uptown, I heard Tommy sorta sigh and turned to see him slowly collapsing on the floor.

Oh. Joy.

He’s home from school since his fever was 104 at one point.

Tori woke up this morning with:

In an effort to share the germies with the whole of Fairhope, her butt is at school since she is not running a fever.

I expect a ‘Please come get your disease-ridden child from the premises’ phone call any moment. And I’m sure there where be a barely disguised undertone of “You are a horrid mother for sending your sick child to school.”

Yeh, well, at least I changed out of my PJs, people.

Last day of Arts & Crafts

Actually, I had no intentions of one last day uptown. But we had an appointment to show the house, so the kids and I wasted an hour walking around.

Half way through I realized I should have taken the time to snap pictures of all the dogs we saw all day long. The kids were in dog heaven. At any rate, they fell in LOVE with this tiny 9 year old Yorkie. You can hear the ‘aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhs’ oozing out of the picture, can’t you?

We’re finally back home. TJ is feeling better. Tori has church tonight, and I’ve got tons of work.
